Best Ribs
Heads up meat-lovers! Hot off the char-grill are some of Melbourne's best sticky, sweet ribs.

1. Squires Loft || 166 Toorak Rd. South Yarra. Ph: (03) 9824 0999. Also in Docklands and CBD. squiresloft.com.au.
Traditional steakhouse serving pretty special ribs. Juicy and tender, piggy spare ribs are marinated in a Squires Loft baste before being char-grilled to perfection. Skip 500g, go for the kg. Definitely some of Melbourne’s best.
2. The Meat & Wine Co || 3 Freshwater Place. Queensbridge St. Southbank. (03) 9696 5333 themeatandwineco.com.
Meat lovers are in for a treat at this stunner steak haven on Southbank. Order half or full racks of beef (meat is Aussie Angus cattle under their Monte Beef Brand), lamb or pork ribs or a platter of all. Slow-cooked in a fine BBQ sauce, they’re finished on a flaming hot char-grill. Big crunchy chips too!
3. Limor’s International Bar & Grill Restaurant || 67 Kooyong Rd. Caulfield North. Ph: (03) 9509 8183. limors.com.au.
Come here for twin racks of baby U.S. Ribs. Hot off the char-grill, the meat is tender and flavoursome and comes slathered in Limor’s famous BBQ Sauce. Sweet and sticky, you may just get it all over you but we think it’s worth it.
4. Hogs Breathe Café || Chadstone Homemakers Centre. 695 Warrigal Road. Chadstone. Ph: (03) 9568 8322. hogsbreath.com.au.
Ok, so it’s a tad cliché but admittedly, Hogs ribs are pretty fine. Laying claim to perfect ‘Hogspitality,’ they do succulent baby back ribs or 1kg serves of US-style pork ribs – both smothered with a hickory smoked BBQ sauce. Meat falls of the bone. No shame – tackle the whole hog or share.
