Vincent Martel: Head Sommelier
Vincent is the current Sommelier at The Point, Albert Park and was previously Sommelier at two Michelin stars Michel Sarran Restaurant in Toulouse.
After growing up in the South East of France, in a family passionate about wine, Vincent Martel’s desire to work with wine was ignited. Wine was in his blood and he dreamed to be a Sommelier.
At the age of 20 he left his hometown Aix-en-Provence to study for two years at the ‘Brevet Professionnel Sommelier – Lycee Hotelier d’Avignon’. Here Vincent knew he had to follow his dream and upon completion of his initial study he was accepted to continue his study at the prestigious ‘Ecole Hoteliere de Toulouse’. Two years later Vincent was awarded best student in his class and qualified with ‘Brevet Professionnel Sommelier’.
