Gourmet hotdog, anyone?
Hot dogs are awesome. They’re cheap, tasty and full of meaty, saucy goodness. The owners of new South Fremantle eatery, Run Amuk, think hot dogs are awesome too. So much so, they’ve devoted their entire restaurant to them.
Kitted out in retro decor, Run Amuk serves hot dogs made from high quality, locally made bratwurst sausages that comprise 70% pork, 30% beef and a blend of herbs and spices. Their chutneys, relishes, produce and cheeses – also locally sourced – are what turn an otherwise tasty hot dog into a taste explosion and are, according to them, “the best thing since moonshine”.
Take the “Tom Foolery” which contains a premium bratwurst, punchy tamarind chutney, aged cheddar, diced pink lady apple and baby spinach. Or the exhilaratingly spicy “Dare Devil” which includes a premium bratwurst, two specialty chilli sauces, lightly caramelised onions, aged cheddar, baby spinach, sliced green chillies and sour cream. See? They definitely aren’t your average dog.
If your mouth’s not already watering then perhaps you’re vegan or vegetarian? Don’t worry, you haven’t been forgotten. Any hot dog on the menu can be made with Run Amuk’s organic vegan sausages.
Forget New York – we reckon the best hot dogs can be found right on our doorstep. Run Amuk is sure to become a local haunt.
