Salsa Nights at Cruise Bar
I'll take my Salsa on the Rocks
August 12,2010
Last Thursday we made our way toward the ferry only to be enthused and then coerced elsewhere by the seductive sounds of salsa music. We’d heard about it but now we’d stumbled upon a Latin American heartland in Sydney. We got passion, copious beads of sweat and all the vigorous hip movements one could ever hope for in one place at the one time.
Sydney’s weekend starts tonight and in fact, every Thursday night at Circular Quay’s Cruise Bar for Salsa on the Rocks. You’ll find yourself mesmerised as this jam-packed venue moves in unison. Don’t be intimidated though, yes salsa is sexy but it’s equally social – even the beginners like us were steaming it up to the very best sultry sounds and Latin beats.
Now for those steps. Hold the beat, step forward with your left foot, rock back onto your right foot, look your partner square in the eye etc. As we said we are beginners too.
And guys, please take note, you’re meant to be leading this merry dance.
