The Green Room Lounge Bar
Small bar big on retro style
September 08,2010
Casually tucked between two of the area’s ubiquitous Thai restaurants, the newest addition to Enmore’s social scene The Green Room Lounge Bar is a warm and original winner.
Just a skip away from the Enmore Theatre, the venue is an unpretentious and funky 1950’s style lounge. With plenty of space and quirky décor you might, as Agenda did, find yourself sharing your drink with Paul Newman or Cary Grant as cool retro films play on the surrounding walls.
Ideal for your pre or post show tipple or just a great place to meet with friends for an after work bevvy. Proprietors Tandarra Rothman and Mel Spencer (wife of Adam Spencer) were inspired to bring just a touch of ‘the relaxed and fun Melbourne bar scene’ to Sydney’s inner west and have succeeded admirably.
The Green Room Lounge serves up a great choice of good value Australian wines including an interesting selection of organic options, plus boutique beers and ciders, while sophisticated snacks include gourmet sandwiches and a selection of delicious cheeses.
Though it’s been open barely a week, the news has travelled fast, and we’d suggest arriving early to grab a spot on one of the comfy and cool lounges, because this place is already seriously abuzz by around 8pm.
