The name Simon Johnson is synonymous with fabulous produce and the providore’s annual Talk Eat Drink series will see an inspiring line-up of chefs showing how to make the most of it in a new state-of-the-art demonstration kitchen at the Alexandria Market store. A host of experts will share their tips for creating quality cuisine at home, starting on July 3rd with Longrain’s Martin Boetz who’ll endeavour to expand your knowledge of Asian food with his unique blend of Thai and Southern Chinese flavours.
The ongoing program will also include Peter Kuruvita, of Pyrmont’s Flying Fish who will proffer sensational seafood dishes inspired by his Sri Lankan Heritage. Universal’s Christine Manfield will put up some belly warming seasonal soups and broths, while Cheese legend Will Studd will introduce us to some of the world’s finest cheese.
Francophiles will be in foodie heaven with a veritable smorgasbord of Gallic gastronomy. Becasse wunderkind Justin North, Bathers’ Pavilion’s Serge Dansereau, Damian Pignolet of Woollahra stalwart Bistro Moncur, and TV charmer and L’etoile chef extraordinaire Manu Feildel will all be taking turns to demonstrate the cuisine their respective eateries receive deservedly rave reviews for.
As well as the celebrity chef Saturday sessions firing up our passion for quality produce and cuisine, this year’s series will also see the introduction of weekday classes that will focus on breathing new life into everyday cooking, with masterclasses on polenta, risotto, pasta, chocolate, and more.
Each class is limited to 40 guests with each attendee receiving copies of the recipes and a taste of what’s prepared with wines to match. If you want to hone your kitchen skills while noshing with some of the very best chefs in town, get in now.
