Taste Orange @ Bondi
Bondi, please meet Orange
August 23,2010
The majority of us might be in the painstaking process of reducing our calorific intake in preparation for swimsuit season, but here comes a good reason to put the pre-spring diet on hold for the week.
The picture perfect Orange idyll comes to the city’s surf from today the 23rd through August 29th, bringing with it an appetising line-up of tastes, both edible and otherwise.
Bondi Beach will be hosting the gastronomic extravaganza which will see Bondi’s best eateries open their doors to a series of wine and food pairings specially designed for the occasion.
While the Ross Hill Wines lunch at North Bondi Italian is sold out, The Belgravia Wine dinner at the Bondi Social ($95) promises to be an equally delectable opportunity to taste award-winning wines paired with their local produce.
The touring seven-day feast culminates in Sunday’s six-hour tasting session kicking off from 11am at the beachfront pavilion.
With more than 30 stalls representing the region’s wines, as well as live music performances, cooking demonstrations with 2009 Master Chef finalist Lucas Parsons and a full-scale farmer’s market, country living never seemed quite so tempting as in sunny eastern suburban Sydney.
Just pick up a wine glass for $5 along with a set of tasting tickets for wine and food plates in multiples of $3. Entry is free, but tickets can be booked in advance.
