Beauty, Purity and Luminosity - A Sensory Journey with Ruinart
Luxe French dining right in the heart of Sydney
March 29,2012
Treat your senses with a truly luxe experience with the first in a series of new and exclusive dining experience, set to launch on May 16 at the Intercontinental Sydney. The inaugural event ‘Beauty, Purity and Luminosity – A Sensory Journey with Ruinart’ will be hosted in partnership with Moet Hennessey Australia in the tasting room of the hotel’s Cafe Opera restaurant.
Moet Hennessey’s Greg Williams (well re-known champagne connoisseur) will host the evening drawing on 20 years experience in tasting and training to deliver a superb and informative experience. AgendaCity got a sneak preview of this event and we can guarantee you that this 5 course degustation, matched with finely-crafted champagnes, will take you on a sensory journey right to the reaches of the glorious North East of France. The delectable and carefully selected beverages are a product of the world’s oldest established champagne house, Ruinart.
Our culinary standouts for the evening were the smoked Hiramasa king fish with Alaskan king crab and chive ‘Nicolas’ potato and also the confit and ballontine Quail with pan-seared foie gras and quince compote. These savoury delights were perfectly followed by two deliciously wicked deserts. The first, fresh poached strawberry with ‘Biscuit Rose de Reims’ and then came the chocolate marshmallow, cacao granola, crème chiboust and candied mint.
Tickets are $290 person including matching champagnes. Be sure to get in quick as there are only a limited number of seats available for this truly luminous culinary experience.
