Kazbah
Sydney’s only Breakfast Degustation
March 05,2010
If you want a breakfast that will fill your belly to bursting, Balmain’s Kazbah offers Sydney’s only breakfast degustation and at just $25 per person, it’s simply amazing value for money.
Balmain residents have been rocking this particular Kazbah for sometime but this gorgeous little gem nestled in between the cafes and boutiques of Darling Street is something of a revelation for other Sydneysiders. We stumbled upon by chance or perhaps kismet, and while the restaurant’s Middle-Eastern and Northern African inspired dinner menu appears to have plenty to offer it’s their amazing breakfast offerings that will stop even the fussiest of foodies in their tracks.
I can’t go past the explosion of flavour that is their breakfast tajine – spicy lamb, sucuk (cured sausage), capsicum, feta and tomato baked with deliciously oozy eggs still cooking happily away as it reaches our table. Served with bread this is a breakfast that I can attest to being an excellent cure for even the most determined hangover. I also heartily recommend the delicious rose frappe while my caffeine addicted partner swears the syrupy Turkish coffee is a particularly tasty rocket fuel bi-product – given he’s still happily buzzing several hours later, he might just be right.
The inspired breakfast degustation offers way more food than any one person can possibly handle – though I’d certainly make my best effort. To indulge in this spectacular breakfast flight of fantasy, you’ll need a group of eight or more and will have to book ahead.
