Pizza Moncur
Woollahra's hot pizza joint
February 01,2011
After much crust-infused frenzy and after just 2-months Pizza Moncur in Woollahra has expanded. It’s swung open it’s wooden doors onto Queen Street.
The crowd is upper crust (but not stuffed), so you’ll probably fit right in. We did!
Pull up a stool or comfy chair and dine on some white anchovies with crispy bread. Or dig into the tasting plate, complete with cured meats, cheese, pate and crunchy bread.
Be sure to pace yourself, and save some room for the extensive choice of pizza toppings. We opted for the pumpkin pizza with sage roasted butternut pumpkin, courgette, grilled haloumi & toasted pine nuts and the lamb pizza with oregano, capretta fetta, wilted spinach & tzatziki.
The wine list is a-plenty, boasting wines from the Eden Valley in South Australia, to as far as wines from the French Pyrenees and Argentina. We recommend the Rose (Toubreak) from the Barossa Valley. Perfect for a balmy summer night.
Oh, and if you want delivery they’ll also happily take orders for your fave drop or brew. Because sometimes the couch is where it’s at.
Where: Corner Queen & Moncur Street, Woollahra
Hours: 7 days, 5pm-10pm
