Lo-FI Open
Swap the schooners for sweatbands at Lo-Fi this Sunday
Located in the heart of bustling Darlinghurst where the drinks are unique and the clothes even more so, locals usually hop up to Lo-Fi of a Sunday afternoon to enjoy band competitions, art exhibitions or just a lazy cocktail before sacrificing themselves to the daily grind for another working week.
This Sunday however, relaxation and laziness will be swapped for tiny balls, wooden racquets and a ping pong table the Chinese Olympic team would envy. Yes folks, it’s the inaugural Lo-Fi Ping Pong Open and everyone is invited to observe or, for the really ballsy, participate.
The Lo-Fi Open is a bar verses bar doubles knock out style competition, meaning representatives from a whole slew of similar bars from around the area will come together for the industries night of nights. If you’re a keen ping ponger but don’t belong to a bar, never fear! There are a few spots left open for teams who want to sign up on the night.
It wouldn’t be a competition without incentive, and what better way to motivate the budding sport stars than with the promise of a sweet bar tab at the end of it all for first, second and third placed teams as well as best dressed.
So throw on your sweatbands and preppy tennis club attire and head down to Lo-Fi, pick the best looking team to support and cheer the night away with a drink and some edge of your seat sporting action.
