The Big Fashion Sale
Half off and more – because you deserve it
Attention fashionistas, here’s one serious shopping event.
And with Christmas on the horizon (helloooo stressful gifting and cooking), the Big Fashion Sale is an opportunity to treat yourself to a touch of designer retail therapy. Because, of course, what’s a host without designer threads?
So put the credit cards and laptop down for the day, as this Thursday marks the Sale kickoff at District 01 on Oxford St.
The sale is definitely a big one, with big price-slashings to match: from expected discounts of 50 to 70 percent off. This annual mega sale, back for a third year, will see District 01 flooded with pieces from coveted Aussie designers. And don’t be expecting last season and forgotten colours, styles and designs. No, no – from clothing and footwear to swimwear and accessories, chances are you’ll come away sporting luxe pieces from the latest autumn/winter and spring/summer collections.
This December instalment is set to the biggest yet with a host of talented designer Australian brands appearing. Think delicate silk pieces from Eleventh Hour by Anne Tu, who once designed for Kirrily Johnston and international label Preen; styles by Sydney-based designers Maurie & Eve and Amy Kaehne, and bikinis by boutique swimwear label Seventh Wonderland. You’ll also find pieces by Carly Hunter, a finalist in the fashion category at last year’s Qantas SOYA awards; Melbourne-based label Friend of Mine; Story by Tang by WA Designer Christine Tang; and Secret Squirrel, a label that started at the Glebe markets and is now a favourite of Jackie O, Kimbra and Sarah Blasko.
So before those Chrissy preparations get frantic, this is your opportunity to get along and collect some special pieces for you, yourself and vous. Better yet, for the ultra-keen or those in need of a head start, sign up to the BFS mailing list to score an invite to the VIP opening event this Wednesday, 7 December (the night before) from 4pm.
When: 8-11 Dec | 10am–6pm
Where: District 01, 74-76 Oxford St, Paddington
